Description: This semester, in response to the global pandemic, the Hesburgh Libraries at the University of Notre Dame are implementing a controlled digital lending system for some of their print reserves materials. Please join Mark Dehmlow, Tara Kenjockety, and Cheri Smith to learn more about the creative solutions they have taken for course reserves processing, and the software they are using to make materials available online.
Speakers:
Mark Dehmlow: As the Director of Library Information Technology, Mark is responsible for providing leadership, vision, and oversight for the strategic and functional directions of the Hesburgh Libraries IT Program. He has written and presented on software development, open source software, organizational change, cloud computing, and technology management.
Tara Kenjockety: Tara is the Manager for the Reserves and Interlibrary Loan Lending Subunit within the Teaching, Research and User Services Program at Hesburgh Library. Tara is a graduate of Indiana University and holds a bachelor's degree in anthropology and a master's degree in library and information science. Tara has written and presented on topics involving information literacy in the adult education classroom and Great Lakes area Native Americans.
Cheri Smith: Cheri Smith is the Program Director for Teaching, Research & User Services. Cheri provides leadership and direction for many of the Hesburgh Libraries' frontline services, including reserves, circulation, document delivery, interlibrary loan, stacks management, library annex operations, and reference and instruction services. Cheri is a member of ALI's Resource Sharing Committee.
