The ALI Shared Collections Committee (SCC) is inviting all those interested in cooperative collection sharing, building, and retention to a “Collections Chat” on October 6th. After cancelling a spring 2020 meeting intended to strategize shared collections activities across Indiana academic libraries, we are ready to restart the conversation on ALI’s work supporting retention, cooperative purchases and resource sharing. To that end, we hope to reorient ALI librarians with the history of these efforts and reinvigorate efforts to work together based on feedback.
Aside from the SCC, we have invited the chairs of the Resource Advisory and Resource Sharing Committees (RAC and RSC) to join this session as we connect collections-focused efforts across ALI groups. Each committee will present an overview of its activities and goals, with a facilitated discussion immediately following.
Since quite a bit has changed across ALI since spring 2020, we want to hear questions and issues about collections from your library’s perspective. Please contribute using this document, which will be shared with the presenters to inform their development of presentations and discussion topics.
Please forward to anyone in your library interested in these topics, and invite them to register at:
